About Christine

Christine Sheldon, LPC (she/her), is a Colorado-based Licensed Professional Counselor providing online couples, family, and individual therapy throughout the state. She has completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and integrates this research-based framework into her work with couples seeking deeper connection, improved communication, and meaningful conflict repair.

Christine also brings training and experience in sex therapy and specializes in supporting individuals navigating eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety, and relational conflict. Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed lens, recognizing that many patterns within relationships are shaped by past experiences, attachment wounds, and unspoken shame.

Drawing from Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Christine helps clients externalize the problem rather than turn against one another. She works collaboratively with couples and families to create a united, compassionate approach to change — one built on honesty, accountability, and emotional safety.

Christine is known for being transparent, steady, and direct in her therapeutic style. She uses assertive and compassionate communication to foster openness and clarity, while maintaining a calm and grounded presence. Clients often appreciate her balance of warmth and structure— offering both validation and practical tools for lasting change.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Mesa State College and her master’s degree in Couples and Family Counseling from Colorado University Denver. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals, couples, and families navigating addiction, domestic violence, legal system involvement, and eating disorder recovery — experiences that inform her depth of understanding and commitment to systemic, relational healing.

Christine welcomes clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, races, religions, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. She is committed to providing inclusive, affirming care for individuals and families across Colorado through secure telehealth services.

Services

Individuals

Individual therapy offers a steady, compassionate space to explore anxiety, shame, relationship stress, and patterns that feel difficult to shift alone. Christine uses a trauma-informed approach, drawing from Narrative Therapy and relational frameworks to help clients externalize the problem and reconnect with their values and strengths. Together, you will build clarity, emotional regulation skills, and a deeper understanding of how your experiences shape your present relationships.

Couples

Couples therapy is structured, research-based, and grounded in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Christine helps partners identify destructive conflict cycles, strengthen communication, and rebuild trust in a balanced, non-blaming environment. With warmth and directness, she guides couples toward practical tools and emotional repair that create lasting change.

Families

Family therapy focuses on improving communication, reducing tension, and strengthening connection within the family system. Using Emotion Focused Family Therapy and trauma-informed care, Christine helps families move away from blame and toward shared understanding and collaboration. The goal is to create a united front where each member feels heard, supported, and accountable.
